BREAKING NEWS - New beginnings?

Post by Sneakglove on Wed May 20, 2009 6:45 am

I received a very hard to understand artist update from The Brilliant Green this morning. It seems the TBG official page will end on 31st May and something else will begin maybe? I was worried by the message that the band had actually split for good, because they thank us for our support. Also Tommy says she will keep us informed on future activity in her blog.

Please hidebow and mikanomoide, can you give us a clue to the contents of this message asap! Many thanks.

I was surprised with this news.
I don't understand the detailed information either.
They seem to transfer their company(Ken-on) with some artists.
and a new homepage and a blog seem to be made.

Phew, thanks hidebow. I worry too much...

My friend Kino also confirms this. They will have a new homepage and blog soon. The last sentance translates to -

"we are going to come back power up brilliant green"

Not record companies, AGENCIES! In other words, they are dumping KEN-ON at last. Best decision they could make, KEN-ON are pathetic. hopefully TBG will get better web coverage now, and maybe even a English option of the homepage of the new site.

Whew, I think my heart stopped for a moment here!!

So this is ... actually good news in disguise? They wouldn't be making an effort changing agencies, stating a "new" start, etc... if they weren't going to do something soon! Yay!!

I think I just went from: Shocked --> Very Happy in about a minute.

Sorry if I worried anybody there, I did it to myself too!

Anyway, I recently noticed on a few other official sites that I have visited recently that bands like Advantage Lucy , Love Psychedelico and even a new, young band like SCANDAL all have multi language selections, including English, on their official websites. It's about time TBG did the same.

Am i the only one getting vibes LOVE PSYCHEDELICO is coming out with a new album? they were nominated for best pop artist/group in shoujo beat, and lost to ayumi hamasaki, kumi koda, and OLIVIA (honestly i thunk it should've gone livi, LP, Ayu, then kk but whatever).

and I'm sure SCANDAL only has an English site because they did the new Bleach theme which is playing here in the u.s and is super popular apparently. I've never seen it personally.

But isn't GUNDAM really popular in the US too?

00 started airing on the SCI-Fi channel in the US on 24th November last year and the first DVD is released this month Also Ash Like Snow was included on the computer game that was released worldwide. All I am asking for is a little 'English' option at the bottom (or top, I am not fussy) of the homepage of the new site. I think for a band of Buriguri stature, no matter how that may have diminished, is not too much to ask.

I get what you mean about Bleach though, it is the new Naruto afterall (but loads better).

Thanks for the PV link Wink

They say to keep an eye on Tommys blog for future news updates Wink"

Was Ash like Snow included in the U.S. version? that makes a difference. I mean i don't know I've never watched the Sci-fi anime.

Well i mean you can't exactly say that a lot of English/American artists don't have other language options whether or not English is the biggest language...

In any case i don't find it so surprising. Let's be honest, there aren't many foreign Tommy fans. I mean also if you look at SCANDAL's english site you notice they're still advertising pre-getting signed material, so it's obviously not updated n' such. Also you have to realize Buri Guri isn't nearly as popular as when they first came out.

I actually don't know why i just said all that....I agree with you...I wish there was an English option...Now I'm rambling....

Yeah, nothing was changed. It should be Ash Like Snow as the intro right now shouldn't it? If anybody could check that out it would be great Wink

Hmmm, yeah, nothing official on the split from DefSTAR, this was posted on a external site, and possibly was guesswork from the author. It would make sense for it to be true though.

I guess we will have to wait just a little longer to find out for sure. For now we just reported what was in the email from Sony, it would'nt be wise to speculate too much until we know the facts.

Agreed DefSTAR have done nothing wrong, as far as we can see, of course we do not know what happens internally do we. If they have split with them, it may just be because the band feel they can do that part of the job thereselves, OR, one thing I did think about was Shunsaku forming his own independent record label...Maybe the first band to sign (apart from TBG) to this new label is SOWELU Wink Pure speculation on my part though.

On the other hand, I have been the first to criticise KEN-ON for their role (or lack of) since the return of TBG.

I think DefSTAR & ken-on are bad. Compare any other artists/bands's official web with the brilliant green that one, you'll see what I mean. The design is quite simple and effortless, lazy. I'm not a professional on CD label/agent stuffs, I'm just a fan, but I feel like they're not treat buriguri as important as I think they should have.
