Daydream and Nightmare's Weekly Sales

Post by kero-chan on Fri Mar 06, 2009 3:00 am

Acording to the Oricon Weekly Chart the sales for both albums during its debut week were:

Strawberry Cream Soda Pop Daydream 31947 in 5th place.

Gothic Melting Ice Creams Darkness Nightmare 28653 in 6th place.

more than 60,000 copies Very Happy

Their highest position in the Diary Oricon Chart were 3rd and 4th in the day before the official release date. First place was for Angela Aki's third Album "Answer", but that was predictable because of the success of her song "Tegami" but her total sales for the week were really low compared with previous albums....around 74,000 copies.

I think trying to chart well with a 'best of' album is really tough, as of course all the hardcore fans will have most of the songs already and will maybe just try and get hold of the 2 new ones some other way. I think this is a good result for Tommy really.

It's really great that both persona manage to rank high on the charts.

Kinda surprising that Tommy february6 beat Tommy heavenly6 on the charts >_< But I guess it's just that the people missed her since ''Lonely in Gorgeous''...This ranking kinda reminded me of Wait till I can dream/Love is Forever.

Sneaky, Best albums always chart well. There are a lot of people that like some February singles, or songs, but never enough to buy the singles, or whatever. So now they can just grab a CD version of the best albums, and get all the best songs they've missed without spending money on EVERY single to get all the songs. So actually best albums are easy to chart with.

I really hoped people would go "Kick ASS!. I'm gonna buy these" like they did for the buri guri best of and they would go straight to #1 and 2.
