I'm not the biggest fan of Tim Burton, to be honest (his style is interesting though, I really loved Big Fish). I find his films "same old, same old" if you know what I mean (especially because he uses Johnny and Helen all the time). But one of my favourite films is The Nightmare Before Christmas - directed by him - although, incidentally, one of the animators was Paul Berry who did "The Sandman" (which is one of my favourite short films, if you watch it, you'll see that The Nightmare B. C. animation is SO Paul Berry).

I also happen to love Alice in Wonderland (first from Disney, but I read the books when I was very young) and watch every Alice in Wonderland thing that comes out if I can, ha ha! It seems to me as if Through the Looking Glass is going to be in this film too. At least, slightly integrated from what I just saw on the trailer! Hmm, so hopefully it'll be good =D I love Through the Looking Glass and wish it was adapted more, to be honest, so I love anything that throws it in too. It's a great story also, you know.

It really is!!!! I personally liked Alice's Adventures in Wonderland better than through the looking glass, but apparently in this movie there's the white queen, the Jabborwocky, and Tweedle Dee & Dum which are all from Through the Looking Glass

I found a funny tv program lately.
Round the Kansai blog tour by Saki Inagaki (a comedian of evangelion)
This program was broadcasted only in Kansai area.
It was a hard but heartwarming trip.
I could not stop watching this TV series.

Looks pretty funny Hideki. Maybe we can watch it together in October, and you can explain it to us.

Drag me to Hell..

Gave me the chills! I don't know why I watch these kind of movies, feels like I'm going to hell each time I watch a horror movie. The gypsy woman played her part very well. Good film, recommended for those who haven't seen it. Clever use of the shadows too, interesting.. I think the next horror film I watch will be in a well lit room, with fluffy teddy bears in the background. haha!

Anyway...

I also saw 'Monster Vs Aliens' too and 'They Live', an old John Carpenter film. I think I will watch 'Tokyo' a Japanese 2008 film later, never got the chance to see it before or maybe.. Kitaro - another film.

Is any one watching The Walking Dead? It's really good. Plenty of character development, action, suspense, and more zombie carnage than you can shake a stick at.

Its really great, a breath of fresh air in TV. I can't wait until enough episodes have passed to be released onto DVD.

There have been two really good programs on this week here in the US about John Lennon to coincide with the the 30th anniversary of his death.
I am old enough to remember the day he was shot, but I really didn't know much about his life except that he was married to a crazy Japanese woman.
Both programs were really good. Are they showing anything like this in the UK?

Yes, they're have been quite a few things on, from the drama "Lennon Naked" (very Yoko biased and anti Beatles) and many documentary programmes.

Lennon Naked was shown here too. I don't know how true it was, but they sure made Paul look like an idiot.
Who knows what the true story is, but it was indicated that John and Paul got along well after the Beatles broke up in a documentary that was shown after Lennon Naked.

Yeah all the docs I have ever watched implied that it was never that bitter and that The Beatles split was agreed before they recorded Abbey Road and the making of that album was a very joyous occasion. Lennon Naked wan't true at all, in my belief.

Re: What are you watching?

As far as I know, Lennon saw Paul and Ringo after the Beatles split up. Lennon didn't see alot of George Harrison even though they originally got along very well. I suppose Lennon was mad about the Biography Harrison wrote which didn't mention Lennon at all. Then again Lennon wrote How do you sleep? which was about Paul McCartney. Lennon said in a interview, now we can create our own original recordings after the Beatles split up. Though, I do think Yoko had pressured the Beatles in some form. George Harrison admittely said he didn't like Yoko and didn't want her around on one of his concerts, which would upset Lennon. Friends and relationships the most complicated things in this world.

My son is stuck on Quibish. He says the whole scoring system makes no sense. Why mess with the bloggers since who ever gets the flich wins?

Lucky!!! I want to go see it.....T__T My sister does too, but our mom is like, what's so good about Harry Potter? And I LOLed at the nose thing. So true.

Well, seeing as there is no tv here in our apartment...I'll have to wait until next weekend when I go back home to see some real tv...So I just watch Youtube. Tommy, Kpop music videos, etc. Gah, but I shouldn't be so lazy this week----it's finals week.

Oh, but yesterday I was watching a Korean show called f(x) Koala. So funny. xD

Thanks for letting me know Sneakglove. The problem I was having was the forum wouldn't show any topics for any of the categories..could have been firefox playing tricks with me. Anyway it's working good now Smile

New film, saw Kick Ass, not bad, but the last quarter let the film down. Felt strange seeing a 12 year old girl brandishing a gun, running about killing people. Then later getting beaten up by an adult. I know the film was comical and she was a superhero, but it kind of felt in 'bad taste', uneasy feeling to say the least. The ending could have been more imaginative. I suppose it depends on how you view violence in films. Seeing a 12 year old girl superhero getting beaten up just felt really strange to me, uneasy.
